Saving pages as new versions allows you to keep historical versions of the page and change the active version of content on your website.

Rich text editor
Fully function web-based WYSIWYG text editor. Edit content and add images, tables and other HTML objects using a simple and powerful point and click interface.

File upload
Upload images and other files to your website and refrence them in your content.

XML based content templates
Content templates drive the data entry and structure of data entered into the system. These are transformed by the XSL templates to alow data entry and to create your web pages. Adding a new content template will require modifications to the XSL template (common.xsl) that is used to generate web pages.

XSL stylesheet templates
XSL Templates are used to generate the actual pages you see on the site. They are also used to render the content templates to display the data entry screens on the content editor.

Exstensible XML-based module architecture
Modules can be dropped into any page on the site by adding their signature to the content editor. They can contain any kind of ASP script - allowing you to do things like searching, listing products or building data-gathering forms.

The promise of .NET is finally starting to catch up to the hype. Just when you've done the same thing enough times that you've fully automated all the mundane repetitive work, they change the underlying technology and you have to jump in and get your feet all wet again.

It's not all bad though - after all, you still approach the work with the same attitude. Three strikes and you automate - by the time you get familiar enough with the new technology, you formulate the right questions to ask - the right phrase to google. You hope that you don't have to reinvent the wheel...and most of the time, you're right.

After forgoing my old standby custom-built ASP data management framework...having weighed the .NET 1.x components and finding them wanting...the fruit of my searches comes in the form of .NET 2.0 - specifically the new .NET data controls and the nicer, lighter weight Visual Web Development IDE (VWD).

Seems like Microsoft finally figured it out...as usual, it took a major rev or 2.
